As we bid farewell to Summer here in Germany, We decided to leave it on a crisp warm note and do another Featured Build of the month!
Blake Therrien from Maine, USA owns this beautiful Supercharged Silver BMW E36 Sedan with the luxury package aesthetics which are slowly becoming a rarity as most owners opt for the aggressive M Package. Blake purchased a Harbinger Supercharger Kit from us last year and built it into his 2.8L powered 325i. He still considers his car to be a build in progress. Here is what he has to say, (mehr …)
As spring moves slowly towards a warm summer, the month of May is here and with it comes another Featured Build of the month! Today we present a well kept Supercharged E34 in Alpine White! This car belongs to Charlie Pearce from the UK and he supercharged it with the Hyde Motor Works a V3.62 Supercharger Kit. Seeing close to some 8PSI with an Air to Air intercooler, this car has a custom ECU setup, M50 Manifold as well as some other goodies. The owner of this beautiful, Charlie sent us some details and here is his story, "I decided to supercharge my E34 as I wanted to gain some power while retaining the original motor. I liked the idea of a supercharger kit, where everything was ready to bolt straight into the car without any major modifications being made. When I searched for supercharger kits for M50's online, there was only one company which provided such kits, which was hyde motor works. Searching through the different available kits I decided on the V3.62. This kit seemed ideal as the eaton M62 was accessible to me, and it allowed me to run a supercharger at a boost pressure safe for a completely standard motor." Charlie further documents his build and installation process, "As for the build itself it was very simple, the instructions easy to follow and everything fitted very well. The main challenge I came across while completing the build was finding space to mount an intercooler on the E34. I ended up having to cut holes in the radiator supports in order to fit the pipework to and from the intercooler. Running the boost and intake piping was relatively simple, I did this with silicone couplers and in the future plan to upgrade to aluminium hard pipes. To compliment the V3.62 kit I purchased the 60mm reduced pulley which should see me to 8psi with an intercooler. I had access to a m50b25 intake manifold and throttle body, so I put this onto the car too in hope of some more air flow. For fueling I used the tre performance 440cc injectors from hyde and a walbro 255 pump. For engine management I'm using ecu master emu classic, with a m50 adaptor. Im going to have the car tuned in april, My goal is to see 250bhp."
